Vietnam and France have reiterated their dedication to enhancing their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by fostering closer collaboration across multiple sectors, including diplomacy, trade, defense, energy, technology, and infrastructure. During discussions held in Hanoi, officials from both countries assessed the progress made in their bilateral relations and committed to accelerating the execution of their partnership action plan.
Vietnam emphasized the need for intensified cooperation in various areas such as defense, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, and science and technology. The Southeast Asian nation also highlighted the importance of advancing projects related to critical minerals and major infrastructure. Additionally, Vietnam urged France to expedite the ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to maintain its support in lifting the European Union’s “yellow card,” which currently affects Vietnamese seafood exports.
France, recognizing Vietnam as a vital strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region, expressed its interest in expanding collaboration in fields like nuclear energy, rare earths, and satellite technology. The European nation also showed eagerness to work together on transportation infrastructure, healthcare, and cultural exchanges, further deepening the bilateral relationship.
In their joint commitment to addressing regional and global challenges, both countries pledged to enhance coordination on various issues. They underscored the importance of promoting multilateralism, engaging in dialogue, and pursuing sustainable development as part of their shared goals on the international stage.
