US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived in the United Kingdom for an unprecedented second state visit. The couple landed at London Stansted Airport, where they were welcomed by members of the King’s Colour Squadron of the Royal Air Force.
On arrival, they were greeted by US Ambassador Warren Stephens, UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, and Viscount Hood, representing the King. Following a brief welcome, President Trump boarded Marine One and traveled to Winfield House, the ambassador’s residence, ahead of his scheduled visit to Windsor on Wednesday.
Security at the airport was heightened, with armed police officers positioned on rooftops and thorough vehicle and equipment checks being conducted. Speaking aboard Air Force One before landing, President Trump remarked that the trip would deliver the “best pictures,” as the Royal Family prepared a grand ceremonial welcome for his visit.
