Nexford University has formed a new partnership with UPI Study through an Articulation Agreement, which will take effect on April 24, 2026. This agreement creates a structured pathway for students to transfer credits from UPI Study to Nexford, facilitating the pursuit of undergraduate degrees. The collaboration allows Nexford to assess courses from UPI Study that have been recommended for transfer credit by the American Council on Education (ACE) and the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS). It offers nearly 70 courses in areas such as business, computer science, AI, mathematics, science, and social sciences. These courses can be completed entirely online and at the learner’s own pace, either before or during their time at Nexford.

The initiative is particularly aimed at working adults, career switchers, and individuals with hectic schedules by providing a more efficient route to obtaining a degree. Instead of beginning their academic journey from scratch, students can enter Nexford with credits already earned, which can significantly reduce both the time and cost required to complete their degree. Dr. Ann Larson, Chief Academic Officer at Nexford University, emphasized that the university’s goal is to offer degree pathways that accommodate the existing demands of learners’ lives. She noted that the partnership with UPI Study provides a validated and recognized means for students to work towards their degrees even before they officially enroll.

UPI Study offers a self-paced learning model with courses that follow ACE and NCCRS recommendations, making them eligible for credit at more than 2,100 universities. With prices starting at $89 per month, these courses present a cost-effective alternative to traditional community college offerings, which typically range from $300 to $600 per credit hour. Upon completing a course, learners can obtain an official transcript and submit their credits to Nexford for evaluation. A detailed course equivalency guide, which is directly derived from the agreement’s appendix, is accessible online for prospective students.

Nexford University, based in Washington, DC, positions itself as a forward-thinking institution focused on career outcomes rather than conventional educational traditions. Its programs are designed to be flexible, catering to working adults who are juggling professional responsibilities, family commitments, and educational aspirations. Nexford emphasizes real-world project completion and integrating AI as a strategic skill, ensuring graduates possess competencies valued by employers. More information about its offerings can be found on its official website.

UPI Study provides a wide array of college-level, fully online courses without the constraints of deadlines or physical campus attendance. These courses are crafted to be self-paced and are recognized by ACE and NCCRS, facilitating their acceptance at numerous universities.
